Maybe it could be translated into English by "Spiritism". It's a growing philosophy in Brazil, that follows the french Allain Kardec and his books, with enterviews with spirits.There are many mediums also, who write psychographed books, whose authors are spirits.

So far I know, Allan Kardec wasn't a medium…he used other mediums in his research…
