Is it bad branding to use the word "media" in a brand name?

Thursday, April 21st, 2011

Question by Xavier J: Is it bad branding to use the word "media" in a brand name?
I want to start a business based on multimedia. That is, Audio, video, text, animation, and interactivity. However, I can't think of any good names without using the word media. I read that its a bad idea to use that word because it is all too common. I guess I want to come up with a good rememerable name like google, sony, etc. that will reflect that Any advice for a budding business man?

Also: My logo is a simplified blue sprout symbolizing innovation and the launch of new products.

Thanks, Xavier

Well, for a creative name, think of what first inspired you to create your business. And using the word media in your name is ok, but put other words with it to make it sound better and catchy. Like (im just making up names) Media-X. Or, you can come up with an acronym about what you do… For example, AVITA…
Hope this helped ;)
