Saint Xavier University Launches New Web Site Highlighting Online Master's Degree Programs

Friday, June 10th, 2011

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) December 3, 2008

Saint Xavier University (http://www.sxuonline.com), an accredited, not-for-profit university based in Chicago, has unveiled a new Web site, http://www.sxuonline.com, to highlight three online master's degree programs: SXU's Master of Science in Nursing – Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL), Master of Science in Service Management, and Master's in Curriculum and Instruction.

These cutting edge programs were designed with the same admission standards and rigorous curriculum as their ground campus counterparts but are now accessible to students across the country. Saint Xavier University is excited to offer these degrees as part of a long-term strategy to provide market-centric master's programs tailored for today's working professionals. These programs are designed with a three-day experiential residency at SXU's Chicago campus to reinforce the concepts learned and allow valuable time to interact with faculty.

"The new program offerings allow Saint Xavier University to reach a larger, more diverse population of students," explained Richard Venneri, Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs, "Students throughout the country can now take advantage of these highly successful programs that have only been available on campus up until now. The online nature allows for personalized classes and an individualized structure without sacrificing the recognition of a regionally accredited University."

Given the current national economy, many working professionals are seeking additional credentials to protect their current positions or increase marketability. Also, with unpredictable fuel costs there is a demand for advanced education without driving to a fixed location. SXU's online master's degree programs provide small class sizes and convenient access to coursework on your schedule.

Xavier University Players Present Tim Robbins' 'Dead Man Walking' ? Tristate Regional Premiere February 24-27

Xavier University Players Present Tim Robbins' 'Dead Man Walking' Â? Tristate Regional Premiere February 24-27

Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) January 25, 2005

The Xavier University Players proudly presents the tristateÂ?s regional premier of Dead Man Walking adapted for the stage by Tim Robbins at The Gallagher Student Center Theater, on the Xavier University campus, 15 University Drive, in Cincinnati, on February 24-27 at 7:30 pm. with an additional Sunday matinee at 2 pm. Plenty of free parking is available nearby. Tickets are available in advance by calling the box office at 513-745-3576.

Xavier University is the only theatre in the tristate region producing this new adaptation of Dead Man Walking by Tim Robbins. Based on the nonfiction book by Sister Helen Prejean, the riveting drama was an acclaimed major motion picture released in 1996 starring Susan Sarandon and Sean Penn.

Directed by Cathy Springfield, Dead Man Walking stars Xavier University seniors Andy Oare as convicted killer Matthew Poncelet and Katy Leslie as Sr. Helen Prejean. A film detailing the rape and murder of Hope Percy and the murder of Walter Deleacroix will be a part of this drama. CCM sound designer Chuck Hatcher joins the Xavier production team in creating a moving soundscape for the intimate production.

Time is running out for a convicted death row inmate. The clock is ticking as the time of Matthew Poncelet's execution draws near. A convicted killer, Poncelet enlists the help of Sister Helen Prejean, a Catholic nun who becomes his spiritual advisor as he desperately tries to gain a stay of execution. At the same time, Sister Prejean also comes to know the families of PonceletÂ?s victims and the men who will execute him. From this dreadful intimacy comes a moving spiritual journey through our system of capital punishment confronting both the plight of the condemned and the rage of the bereaved in our crime-ridden society.

The Xavier University PlayersÂ?s exclusive production will be coordinated with other campus activities and explorations into the subject of capital punishment. For more details, call Cathy Springfield at 513-745-3578.

Tickets are $ 12.00 for adults and $ 5.00 for all students. Tickets can be purchased by phone in advance by calling Tracy at the box office at 513-745-3576.

The Gallagher Student Center Theatre is located at 15 University Drive on the Xavier University campus. The Gallagher Student Center Theatre is the last building on the right on University Drive off Dana Avenue, just east of Victory Parkway. For directions and a map, click on this link
